Reframing your crows feet

I recently read a book on body language. It was excellent, but of course being a longstanding member of the beauty industry, there’s ONE takeaway that I remember the most.

Did you know that the only outward sign of true happiness on someone’s face, is when the corners of their eyes crinkle up when they smile?

Knowing that wrinkles are formed over time by repeated muscle movement, this made me stop, close the book, and stare out the window for a few moments. This means that the crow’s feet we fuss over are the lasting effects of the happy moments of our lives.

It doesn’t necessarily mean that you’re doing something wrong with your skincare, or that you’re aging poorly, or that you need to freeze your face with Botox. LIFE shows up on our faces: the good, the bad, and the in-between.

But the crow’s feet are from the good moments, and I invite you to reframe how you look at them.
